Next month marks an important event in the life cycle of the BTER Foundation: the election of new Board Members. While those we serve give us our mission and our purpose, it is the Board of Directors that give an organization its energy, its direction, and its moral compass. The Board members are also key to the Foundation's ability to bring in the financial and political support that makes possible everything that the Foundation does.

New Board Members are typically added every year, as elder Board Members complete their term. However, due to a paucity of applicants and volunteers, some of our Board Members have served for over 10 years. I am excited to see that we have had several applicants each year for the past few years. This is truly a testament to the increasing participation of the biotherapy community at large, and to the generosity of these individuals, in particular.

So now I have to ask the question: What can YOU do to help us help you?
  • VOTE. All BTER Foundation members will receive a ballot via email (Survey Monkey) on June 1st in order to vote for new Board Members.
  • If you are not yet a BTER Foundation member, you still have time to join and be included in the vote!  Visit our membership page to join.
  • Would you like to join the Board next year?  You can let us know at any time that you are interested, and we will tell you more about it.
  • Finally, it takes a whole lot of people besides the Board of Directors to make this organization productive. We need writers and article reviewers, clerks and teachers, conference organizers and fundraisers, grant-writers and videographers . . . and of course therapists, patients, researchers and students.   Let us know how you would like to get involved!
Check out our website to discover other ways that you can participate. But above all, join with us in thanking the three outstanding Board of Directors nominees featured below for volunteering to lead us into the next generation of biotherapy.
