If you see someone missing from that list (perhaps even yourself), be sure to encourage them to register ASAP. For only $30 you get access to a weekend's worth of events including a marching rehearsal and pizza party on Friday, a chance to march, walk or ride in the Sound of Music Parade and visit with friends at the evening social on Saturday and an opportunity to play with the current Teen Tour Band and Junior Redcoats at Sunday's Concert in the Park. All are welcome.

We will also be welcoming a number of special guests including former Marching Director Rob Garnier and Marilyn Branch, with more to come.

To book your tickets for the June 17 to 19 reunion visit: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/burlington-teen-tour-band-75th-reunion-tickets-305116069377.
Strike Up The Band -- Announcing our Marching Music
At long last we are able to announce the pieces the Alumni Band will be playing during the Sound of Music Festival Grand Parade.

Drum roll (or should that be a roll off) please...

Strike Up The Band (Eric Ford arrangement)
The Thunderer
The Hustle
Prince of Thieves
El Dorado

Many of these pieces will be familiar to past Alumni Band participants as we've played them before, but for those who may not have played them since your time in Band (or not at all) copies of the music will be available soon on our website: www.bttbalumni.ca.

Don't know one or more of the pieces and don't think you'll have time to learn them before June 18? No problem. Our goal is to have feet on the street. If you only play one song, don't worry about it. Want to use a lyre for your part? As long as you're not so consumed with reading your music that you march over the person in front of you, we're fine with it. Want to be in the parade, but not play? You're more than welcome to march, walk or ride along.* Need an instrument? Long and McQuade is offering discount rentals.

If you are planning on participating in the parade, we request (but don't require) you to come to the Friday night marching rehearsal at the Music Centre. Not only will it be a good chance to make sure you still remember which foot is which, it'll also give us an opportunity to see how we sound before hitting the streets in the morning.

A big thanks to Sean MacNeil and his committee for putting all this together.

If you would like to book a place on the float, please select a “General Admission with Trailer Seat for the Parade” ticket when you register.
Which Part Do You Want to Play at the Concert?
If you are planning on participating in Sunday night's Concert in the Park we need to know which instrument and part you'd like to play. Please e-mail us at bttbalumni@gmail.com by June 1. This will help Music Director (and Band Alumnus) Francis Smith select the right music and ensure that we have the proper balance of instruments and parts. We will be holding two pre-concert rehearsals, one on Wednesday, June 8 and the other on Wednesday, June 15. If you plan on playing, please ensure that you're able to attend at least one of these rehearsals. As with the parade, music will be available soon.
Registration Reminders
Online registration for the 75th will be available until Thursday, June 16 at 9 p.m. However, if you still want to register, you can do so in person starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 17. We will be accepting cash, cheques and credit cards (although for credit cards you'll need to purchase it as a walk-in ticket through Eventbrite).

Everyone who registers before May 31 will receive a 75th Reunion hat to be worn during the parade. Those who register after May 31, may still be able to get a hat, but only while supplies last. Same thing goes for lanyards and pre-printed nametags.

To help things go as smoothly as possible for the organizers, we are asking people to sign-up as soon as possible. Tickets are available online at: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/burlington-teen-tour-band-75th-reunion-tickets-305116069377.
We're now on Instagram
While it's a modest start, the Alumni is now on Instagram @bttbalumni. At the moment the account is focused on getting the word out about June's reunion, but once it's over, we hope to use it to share photos and memories of all 75 years (and counting) of the Band's history.
