A WEEK WITH BIA
B IA MEET THE BUILDER EVENT
On, Thursday, BIA Los Angeles/Ventura and BIA Baldy View hosted their joint, Annual "Meet the Builder" event. The event had nearly 30 Southern California builders and developers participate. BIA members had the opportunity to learn about new housing units, upcoming projects, and network with subcontractors and other BIA Associate members. Thank you to our sponsors for making the evening such a success and for our long standing partnership with BIA Baldy View on this event! For more information on this event and others please contact BIA-LAV Director of Events, Jennifer Minzey .
BIA-LAV IN SACRAMENTO
This week, BIA-LAV CEO, Tim Piasky, had the opportunity to attend the California Building Industry Association's (CBIA) Winter Governance meetings in Sacramento. CBIA discussed the legislation and state-level policy issues affecting housing. Tim also attended BizFed's Sacramento delegation meetings to discuss housing across Los Angeles County and our region with Local Government Committee, and Housing & Community Development Committee members.
TODAY'S TESTIMONIAL
If you are interested in networking with Southern California  builders and the associates that support them, staying abreast of legislation that affects our industry, and making good friends, this is a great organization to join. "

ADVOCACY IN ACTION
On Wednesday, Senior Director of Government Affairs, Christine Rangel, testified against the Significant Ecological Areas (SEA) Ordinance at the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission. While BIA still has remaining concerns, thanks to your feedback and our persistent advocacy, issues like an exemption for the Antelope Valley Area Plan have been adopted. We will continue to influence a better version of this ordinance between now and the Board of Supervisors hearing.
