BIA-LAV SUPPORTS MEMBER PROJECT; PASSES NEXT HURDLE
BIA-LAV was on hand to support Equity Residential’s “4th and Hill” project, a 31-story, mixed-use development, comprised of 428 multi-family residential units—of which 108 are to be Restricted Affordable units--and 5,610 square feet of commercial space. This project is permissible under State Senate Bill (SB) 375, the Sustainable Communities and Climate Protection Act of 2008, to outline growth strategies and better integrate regional land use and transportation planning which will help the State meet its greenhouse gas reduction mandates.

SB 375 requires that State’s 18 metropolitan planning organizations to incorporate a “sustainable communities strategy” with the regional transportation plans to achieve their respective region’s greenhouse gas emission reduction targets set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The project would replace a parking lot adjacent to the Pershing Square subway station.
