Medical Arts Lab Dedicated

On Tuesday, November 17th, Hudson Catholic dedicated its new-this-year Medical Arts Program Lab (formerly Room 216) to Marist High School for the gift of its medical equipment, at which President Richard Garibell unveiled a plaque to commemorate the legacy of Marist High School.
Marist, of Bayonne, closed its doors in June this year, after 67 years of providing Catholic education services. At that time, Mr. Peter Kane, President of Marist, extended the generous offer of this equipment to Hudson Catholic.
Chief Advancement Officer Gary Ferrari welcomed all, including Mr. Kane and Larry Basinski '70, whose gift of $10,000 defrays operating costs of the program.
In his speech, Mr. Ferrari remarked “This is a momentous occasion in the histories of our two fabled schools. While it may seem odd to some that our invitation and commemorative plaque contain the Hudson Catholic and Marist emblems, it is our shared fidelity to catholic education that binds us then, now, and in future.”

President Richard Garibell said: “This gift enables Hudson Catholic to provide another practical educational offering that opens our students to the possibilities in health and medical post-secondary studies and career paths. Our families and students will surely value the knowledge and skills gained from this three-year program.”
Pictured with President/Principal Terry Matthews, Mr. Kane added “we are very pleased that this selective program can live on and help distinguish Hudson Catholic in its values-based education. The number of students self-selecting this course is evidence of its need and value.”
