Message from the Superintendent

Dear Berryessa Community,

Each year, Earth Day inspires our schools to reflect on the importance of sustainability and collective action. It reminds us to value our planet and take responsibility for preserving it for those who come after us.

At BUSD, we are proud of the leadership our staff and students show, especially in caring and protecting the environment.

Our district integrates school gardens and recycling initiatives as part of its sustainability efforts and environmental education.

In collaboration with the City of San Jose, BUSD focuses on site beautification and protecting nature, with programs that include student-led gardening, dumpster days, and waste reduction practices.

We sincerely thank and recognize our students, staff, and community partners for demonstrating strong environmental stewardship. Together, let’s keep building a healthier, more sustainable future for our planet.

With BUSD Pride,

Dr. Roxane Fuentes

Superintendent

Middle School Career Days Inspire Students

Our students had an exciting time at the Career Day events! Each of our three middle schools were fortunate to secure about thirty volunteer presenters with different careers, including florist, artist, teacher, lawyer, 911 dispatcher, dentist, doctor, engineer, law enforcement, judge and business owner!

Many of the presenters are former students, while many returned to present again from last year's successful career day events. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experience and inspiring our students to pursue a professional path!
