| | Message from the Superintendent | | |
Dear Berryessa Community,
This October, we’re proud to recognize National Anti-Bullying Month and Red Ribbon Week. Anti-Bullying Month calls on us to build safe, respectful schools where everyone feels valued. Red Ribbon Week encourages healthy, drug-free living and standing strong against peer pressure. These are two important reminders of the power of our choices.
At BUSD, we teach our students that their actions matter. We proudly promote kindness, speaking up for others, and making healthy choices. We believe in leading with heart, integrity, and strength. We encourage our students, staff, and community to always do what’s right, not just this month, but every day.
Thank you for being an essential part of BUSD. Together, we will continue to grow, innovate, and reach new milestones.
With BUSD pride,
Dr. Roxane Fuentes
Superintendent

| BUSD’s Partnership with the Children's Health Council at Laneview | | |
Join us in welcoming a new partner to our Berryessa community! The Children’s Health Council (CHC) is a Bay Area nonprofit that has supported children, teens, young adults, and families since 1953. CHC provides evaluations, therapy, psychiatry, and learning support, and operates two specialized schools, Esther B. Clark School (EBC) and Sand Hill School. CHC teams partner closely with districts and SELPAs to support students with learning differences and mental health needs, building the skills and confidence for each student’s next step.
CHC plans to make Laneview a South Bay hub. Beginning in January 2026, EBC, a nonpublic therapeutic day school, will relocate its current San Jose location to Laneview, expanding capacity to serve more students and collaborate with more districts. In a later phase, Sand Hill School, independent with nonpublic school status, will be an added satellite to the Laneview location and keep Palo Alto as its home campus, giving students with ADHD, dyslexia, and school-based anxiety a school intentionally designed for their unique learning styles.
Over time, CHC plans to bring evaluations, therapy, and specialized learning support to the campus as well. This community-centered site will increase convenient access for local families and strengthen partnerships with districts across the South Bay. We look forward to the many services their center will be able to provide.
