'BUSINESS AND EDUCATION' ROUNDTABLE in Big Sky
On Tuesday, April 25, the Montana Chamber hosted a 'Business and Education Roundtable' with the Big Sky Chamber of Commerce, industry leaders and educators from the Big Sky School District and Gallatin College to share information on the Montana Chamber Foundation's Youth Entrepreneurs Empowered curriculum for teachers to incorporate into their class lesson plans. James Easton guided the audience through one of the 16 different exercises to demonstrate the critical thinking and social skills developed through the activity.
Today, Adam Gilbertson with RDO Equipment Co. is on-site with his team at Lone Peak High School's campus where Jackson Contractor Group is constructing a new STEAM addition. They will provide a hands on demonstration to students of the equipment, technology and process in construction, as well as discuss all of the diverse employment opportunities related to working in that industry.

U.S. Travel Association's DESTINATION CAPITOL HILL
April 24-25, 2023 | Washington, D.C.

Last week, a Montana delegation made up of Racene Friede, of Glacier Country Tourism Region, Diane Medler of Visit Kalispell, Alex Sholly Tyson of Visit Billings and our own Candace Strauss along with 250 travel industry leaders from across the U.S. descended on the Nation's Capitol for the U.S. Travel Association's premier industry fly-in, Destination Capitol Hill-#DCH23. They attended the weekly 'Montana Coffee' on Wednesday morning with all four of our federal elected officials, and then met individually with members and staff throughout the remainder of the day to share travel’s indispensable role as an economic driver for the U.S. and pro-travel policies that will fuel our industry’s continued growth.
It was an honor to represent #TheLastBestPlace by helping to showcase to elected officials that travel is essential—and that our industry’s success is ultimately our nation’s success.

10:00 AM: COMMUNITY CONNECTION AT GARDINER CHAMBER
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM TOUR & TALK AT MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS
12:00 - 1:00 PM LUNCH PROVIDED
It is a compelling story of recovery and resiliency in the Greater Yellowstone for Yellowstone National Park and its Gateway Communities from Livingston to Gardiner, the greater Paradise Valley, Cooke City/Silver Gate and West Yellowstone. Let's come together to commemorate the collaboration among partners from public land stewards, philanthropists, public officials, private industry, and residents to celebrate the community that endured as we kick off the 2023 summer tourism season. We will convene at the Gardiner Chamber Offices adjacent to the Roosevelt Arch to celebrate community with AMB West, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and the Park County Community Foundation.
Then, we will board Yellowstone Forever shuttles - or take individual vehicles - with an interpretive tour provided as we make our way on the newly constructed road to Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. There, get a detailed account of the 500-year historic flooding event that occurred in June 2022 which led to the complete closure of YNP for eight days, destruction of the road between Gardiner and Mammoth Hot Springs, and a nearly full season closure of the North and Northeast Entrances.
