This year was a very special AGM for the Vaughan Chamber as it marks our 40th Anniversary year! We believe that this longevity exemplifies our ability to connect with our members over the years, to constantly innovate in an ever-changing market to stay ahead of the curve, and to provide value to you, our customers.
At our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 3rd, we welcomed three new directors to our diverse and well-rounded board. As we
continue to expand our chamber's reach and break more member participation records, we look forward to another prosperous year!

Vaughan Chamber Passes Two Transportation Policies
The Vaughan Chamber of Commerce attended the Ontario Chamber of Commerce AGM and Convention from May 6-7, and brought two policy resolutions to the floor, both of which were passed.
Policies:
Support for Metrolinx Big Move and 'Next Wave' Priority Projects
Submitted by the Richmond Hill Board of Trade, Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, and Vaughan Chamber of Commerce
Regional Transportation Fare Integration
Submitted by the Toronto Region Board of Trade and Vaughan Chamber of Commerce
What this means to you as a member:
These resolutions become critical elements in the entire Chamber network's advocacy work that we will be undertaking with government over the next three years.

Join Us on a Trip to CHINA

These four-stop excursions begin in Beijing where you'll visit historic sites, including Tiananmen Square and the Palace Museum (also known as the Forbidden City).
Later, you'll have the chance to walk the Great Wall of China and then explore the Ming Tombs. In Hangzhou, sight see from the water during a morning boat cruise and then enjoy a relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses.
From there, you'll travel to Suzhou where stops include a visit to the National Embroidery Institute to learn a bit about the history of silk embroidery, a local craft that dates back thousands of years. In Shanghai, the final stop on the tour, wander through the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and trees and enjoy a visit to Bund, Shanghai's famous waterfront park.
