Entrepreneurship Month Elk Grove Spotlight:

The Serenity Space, Jennifer Gardner

November is National Entrepreneurship Month and an excellent opportunity to celebrate the hard-working entrepreneurs who serve a crucial role in driving economic growth and prosperity in Elk Grove. In recognition of the unwavering commitment and tenacity of our local business owners, the City of Elk Grove is proud to spotlight five success stories this month. The goal is to not only commemorate the accomplishments of these entrepreneurs but also to ignite the aspirations of future dreamers and prospective business leaders, encouraging them to embark on similar paths to success. This week we're happy to spotlight Jennifer Gardner, the passionate leader behind The Serenity Space

Jennifer Gardner has a strong background in Finance. She continues to serve as Vice President of Finance and CFO at PDM Steel, another great Elk Grove business, and has done so for almost a decade. Although incredibly successful in the corporate sphere, Jennifer always had an enduring ambition to run her own business. In 2022, while recovering from a health scare, she found the inspiration to make that dream a reality: "So, I decided that now was the time to pursue this endeavor. I felt the community would benefit from these healing modalities and I was ready to step outside my comfort zone."

Initially envisioning a modest crystal shop, Jennifer's business concept began to evolve as she learned more about holistic services, including the therapeutic potential of sound. Surprised by her emotional response to sound therapy, she delved into its intricacies. "I started studying sound therapy. I started getting bowls and playing. Then I got certified in the Pacific Northwest for the sound side of things." Jennifer has since added certifications for both meditation and yoga to her repertoire.

Distinguishing itself from trendy yoga spots, The Serenity Space focuses on offering unique services geared toward longevity and the overall health of its community. In addition to offering group and private sound therapy, yoga, and meditation sessions, the space now offers a comprehensive array of other services including breathwork sessions, writing workshops, and book club discussions. A recent highlight was hosting bestselling author Brianna Wiest for a book signing event showcasing, The Pivot Year, Brianna’s most recent publication. For those looking to make purchases, the retail section of The Serenity Space includes Organifi, Mud/Wtr and ION products, as well as crystals, jewelry, books, journals, locally made herbal teas, candles, lotions and more. No background in yoga? Not flexible? No problem. Anyone looking to find holistic remedies to the anxieties and/or ailments produced by the hectic pace of modern life is welcome to find what works for them at The Serenity Space. "The goal is getting people back into their body and back to basics."

The City of Elk Grove is honored to spotlight an entrepreneur and venture committed to enriching the welfare of its residents during National Entrepreneurship Month. Jennifer's story of expanding her corporate experience into holistic entrepreneurship is a testament to the boundless possibilities that unfold when passion meets purpose.
