Two exciting new initiatives will continue enhancing the training and expertise within the field of genetic counseling.

The award recognizes Dr. Ramachandran's work on clinical practice in hypertension, and significant contributions to the genetic and non-genetic epidemiology of high blood pressure and heart failure.

The nomination states, "Her commitment to her patients overflows into her volunteer work."

The nomination states, “Nancy treats every person with respect. Her professionalism is paramount.”
Bike Cage Access

All 710 bike cage users must register their bike with BUMC-BMC Parking & Transportation Services and display a registration sticker on their bicycle.

Effective Nov. 15:
  • Bike cage access will be revoked for users who do not have a registered bicycle.
  • Bikes in the 710 bike cage without a registration sticker will be impounded. BU/BMC is not responsible for damage to bicycles and locks related to their removal.

If you do not have a registration sticker affixed to your bike and you wish to use the 710 bike cage, please register your bike here and come to the Parking & Transportation Services office at 710 Albany St. to pick up a bike registration sticker.

Medical Campus Electrical Shutdown | Saturdays or Sundays, Oct. 30-Dec. 19

Beginning Saturday, Oct. 30, through Sunday, Dec. 19, Facilities will be testing the main breakers and transformer connections to BUMC buildings. This means that power will be out in the buildings during the testing. The testing will impact each building for one Saturday or Sunday. 

On the Thursday/Friday before each scheduled shutdown Facilities will coordinate with any offices requiring extension cords to enable sensitive equipment to run on auxiliary power. To request an extension cord or if you have questions, please contact Greg Walker (gawalker@bu.edu). 

Departments should safeguard their equipment by powering off PCs, copiers, lab equipment, etc.

The Department of Surgery is hosting the inaugural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Visiting Professorship featuring Robert Higgins, the William Halstead Professor of Surgery and director of the Department of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he is also senior associate dean for diversity and inclusion. An internationally renowned heart-lung transplant surgeon, Dr. Higgins is the first Black physician to chair any department in the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins. As of December 2021, Dr. Higgins will take on a new role as president of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and executive vice president at Mass General Brigham.
