The Alliance to Increase Diversity in Genetic Counseling initiative will support 40 underrepresented students in five genetic counseling programs in the Northeastern U.S.

The Campus is committed to improving the lives of military and veteran communities.

Monday, Nov. 22-Tuesday, Nov. 23: 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 24: 7 a.m.-noon
Friday, Nov. 26-Thursday, Dec. 23: 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 24: 7 a.m.-noon
Thursday, Dec. 30: 7 a.m.-2 p.m.

Regular testing hours will resume Monday, Jan. 3, 2023. 
Chequers Cafe: New Hours

Chequers Cafe, located in the basement of the Instructional Building, now will be open weekdays from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. 

Peet's Coffee & Tea, located in the Instructional Building lobby, is open Mondays-Thursdays 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and Fridays 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Shames Cafe, located in the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, is open Mondays-Thursdays 7 a.m.-5 p.m. and Fridays 7 a.m.- 4 p.m. 
Medical Campus Electrical Shutdown | Saturdays or Sundays through Dec. 19

Continuing through Sunday, Dec. 19, Facilities will be testing the main breakers and transformer connections to BUMC buildings. This means that power will be out in the buildings during the testing. The testing will impact each building for one Saturday or Sunday. 

On the Thursday/Friday before each scheduled shutdown Facilities will coordinate with any offices requiring extension cords to enable sensitive equipment to run on auxiliary power. To request an extension cord or if you have questions, please contact Greg Walker (gawalker@bu.edu). 

Departments should safeguard their equipment by powering off PCs, copiers, lab equipment, etc.

The Department of Surgery is hosting the inaugural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Visiting Professorship featuring Robert Higgins, the William Halstead Professor of Surgery and director of the Department of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he is also senior associate dean for diversity and inclusion. An internationally renowned heart-lung transplant surgeon, Dr. Higgins is the first Black physician to chair any department in the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins. As of December 2021, Dr. Higgins will take on a new role as president of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and executive vice president at Mass General Brigham.
