He will focus primarily on the integration of foundational and clinical science across the four-year MD curriculum including designing and implementing a new case-based integrated portion of the curriculum that will begin in 2022.

Kate will join the Medical Campus on July 1, 2021. She will take over with Mary Blanchard's retirement after 25 years of service, including as Director of the Library for the past 12 years.

The Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Abdul Saied Calvino, MD, is the Distinguished Faculty of the Month for May.

A member of the BUSM faculty since 2015, Dr. Calvino is an assistant professor of surgery at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence, RI. For the last 3.5 years, Dr. Calvino has served as an associate director for the surgery clerkship.

The Dean’s Office is pleased to announce that Susan Norris has been named Distinguished Staff of the Month for May.

Susan is senior policy officer in the Student Affairs Office. She joined the BUSM community in 1992. Among her responsibilities, she oversees the fourth-year medical students’ residency application process, and manages the complexities of BUSM’s promotions committee, the Student Evaluation and Promotion Committee.

Digital Learning & Innovation is hosting a virtual symposium on Exploring Innovations in Teaching & Technology at BU.
