As we begin a new academic year, I'd like to recognize the contributions to our progress in the 2018-19 academic year.

Effective Sept. 1, the associate professor of pathology & laboratory medicine will be a member of the senior leadership teams of the School of Medicine and Medical Campus.
Dr. Andry’s career at BMC and BU has spanned more than 35 years, during which he has demonstrated a deep-rooted commitment to BUSM, the Medical Campus, Boston University and the Boston community at large.
The assistant professor of medicine has been honored with the Herbert W. Nickens Faculty Fellowship for a junior faculty member demonstrating leadership in addressing disparities in medical education and health care.

September is Recovery Month
During the month of September, a number of events are planned to remember the lives that have been lost to this chronic condition, to reduce the stigma of substance use and substance use disorders, and to spread the message that treatment works and recovery is possible.
