BUSM Rises in U.S. News Rankings
  
U.S. News & World Report ranked BUSM 29th for best research medical school in the US. This is the first time that BUSM has ranked in the 20s. In addition, BUSM's ranking in Primary Care rose from 52nd to 40th.


Barbara Nikolajczyk, PhD, microbiology, and Caroline Apovian, MD, medicine and pediatrics, received $2.8 million from the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to study inflammation and type 2 diabetes in people with obesity.  

A new study led by Liye Zhang, PhD, postdoctoral fellow, and Stefano Monti, PhD, medicine, provides insight on the potential role played by RNA (ribonucleic acid) editing in cancer.  



Rich Named President-Elect of the New England Region Chapter of SGIM

Catherine Rich, MD, assistant professor of medicine, has been elected president of the New England Region Chapter of the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM). 



OSP Director of Pre Award Services Named

Renna Onario Lilly has been named Director of Pre Award Services at the Office of Sponsored Programs, effective April 18.

Call for Summer Research Projects for Medical Students

The Office of Enrichment is seeking research experiences for medical students for summer 2016. The Medical Student Summer Research program introduces first-year students to the principles of research and provides a mentorship experience with a BUMC faculty member. Student applications are due March 21.
