Students, faculty and staff participated in Washington D.C. and Boston events.

State and local leaders joined the BUMC community to discuss the current state of homelessness in Boston and surrounding areas.


Benjamin Wolozin, MD, PhD, is the recipient of the Jack Spivack Excellence in Neurosciences Award for 2017. Hugo Javier Aparicio, MD, MPH, and Scott Hayes, PhD, have been named 2017 Spivack Emerging Leaders.



Joanne Murabito, MD, ScM, became Co-PI of the Framingham Heart Study on Jan. 1. She joins Dr. Vasan Ramachandran's (FHS Director and PI) team along with Dr. Martin Larson (also Co-PI) at FHS.

Joseph P. Mizgerd, ScD, professor of medicine, has received a seven year, $5.9 million "Outstanding Investigator Award" from the NHLBI at the NIH.

Physician Assistants Traveling Banner Exhibition
Be sure to visit the Alumni Medical Library before Friday, Feb. 24, to view National Library of Medicine's "Physician Assistants: Collaboration and Care," a traveling banner exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Physician Assistant profession. 
BUSM is the second place in the country to host the exhibit, which features stories of PAs in communities all over the world and on the front lines of health crises.
