Second-year student Andrew Olsen recently spearheaded an effort to offer a medical Spanish elective to students.

 
Priya S. Garg, MD, has been named Director of the Office of Medical Education and Assistant Dean in the Office of Academic Affairs.


A study in the Journal of Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology found that the majority of post-9/11 U.S. veterans appear to do well in regards to work and family quality of life after departing from military service.

   
According to a study published in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, individuals with opioid use disorder who are treated with buprenorphine are more likely to disengage from treatment programs if they are black or Hispanic, unemployed or have hepatitis C.

Spivack Faculty Awards

Nominations are requested for the  Spivack Neuroscience Distinguished Scholar of the Year (senior faculty) and the  Spivack Emerging Leaders in Neuroscience (assistant professors).

These awards recognize and support the research of outstanding BUSM faculty conducting clinical or basic research in Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy and other neurological disorders.
