Four faculty are working to establish cooperative research programs between BUSM and Chinese universities.

Associate Dean for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs Rafael Ortega, MD, was nominated by his colleagues for the 2017 Giving Back Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. 


The studies focus on "Risk factors for dementia and Alzheimers disease" and "Population neuroscience."

They have uncovered new regulatory factors that link gene expression profiles with aging.
