Cross-institutional core competencies for the prevention and management of prescription drug misuse will reach all medical students in the Commonwealth.

BUSM Physician Assistant program leadership joined Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to announce an expansion of the reach and use of core competencies to combat the opioid crisis.

Amyloid-Related Heart Failure Now Detectable with Imaging Test

Research by Frederick Ruberg, MD and John Berk, MD, finds a type of heart failure caused by amyloid build-up can be accurately diagnosed with an imaging technique, eliminating the need for a biopsy.

A retrospective study by Gabrielle Jacquet and colleagues is published in the World Journal of Emergency Medicine.  

Brady Named Assistant Dean of GMS

Stephen Brady continue to lead the Master's Program in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine while serving as Assistant Dean.


Thomas Perls, MD, MPH, FACP has received the Gerontological Society of America 2016 Joseph T.
Freeman Award.
