Scientists have long suspected that chronic psychological stress -- triggered by events like war, abuse or imprisonment -- may accelerate aging, leading to early onset of age-related disease or even premature death. Now, t wo studies from BUSM  report significant links between post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in veterans and accelerated aging.

The Stanley L. Robbins Award for Excellence in Teaching is given each year at graduation to an outstanding educator at the School of Medicine. Nominations are due Monday, Feb. 22.

The Humanism in Medicine award is given to a clinical faculty member annually. Nominations are due Tuesday, March 1.
