Jeffrey Samet, MD, MA, MPH, will be installed as the first John Noble Professor of Medicine on Monday, Nov. 28, from 4-6 p.m. in Hiebert Lounge.


Professor of neurology and associate dean of veteran's affairs was recently awarded the NIAAA 2016 Mark Keller Honorary Award. 
Tuhina Neogi, MD, PhD, professor of medicine, suggests that it would be reasonable lower uric acid to below the level at which it crystalizes in the blood.

Claudia Satizabal, PhD, will use the grant to further study the impact of obesity on brain aging and Alzheimer's

This weekend marks the end of Daylight Savings Time for 2016 resulting in fewer hours of daylight. At this time each year the Public Safety Department reminds the BUMC and BMC communities about safety awareness. 

Tips to keep your stay safe and secure in the neighborhood, in the workplace, and when traveling can be found here.
Due to the observance of Veterans Day on Friday, November 11th, please note:
  • All medical center and patient shuttles will be operating. The BU shuttle will operate according to the normal schedule.
  • All buses will be operating on a weekday schedule. Commuter rail trains will operate on regular weekday schedules.
  • All parking facilities will be open and regular rates apply. Monthly parkers should park in their assigned lot.

BUSM curriculum decision-making and oversight. Please vote for the MEC Faculty-at-Large Alternate position, who will serve a three year term on the Committee. The election will be open until Thursday, Nov. 24.

BUSM's Class of 2017 MD/PhD Commencement Ceremony will take place Thursday, May 18 at the Agganis Arena. Ceremony begins at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. Additional details will be announced in early 2017.
