She is an accomplished leader and an outstanding surgeon with a record of significant academic achievements. Her appointment is effective July 1.


Professor of Medicine and Assistant Dean of Continuing Medical Education Daniel P. Alford, MD, MPH, FACP, has been recognized for Distinguished Contributions to Behavioral Medicine.

Congratulations to Nadeem Abou-Arraj, Veronica A. Faller, Robert McInnis and Priya I. Shankar!

The fourth-year student was recognized for her exceptional talent and academic accomplishments.

A new approach for growing and studying cells could lead to curing lung diseases through "personalized medicine."

Corresponding author Esther Bullitt, PhD, associate professor of physiology and biophysics explains that this may lead to the development of new vaccines and treatments.


The conference was attended by 200 students and residents, health researchers from the United Nations, and live-streamed by over 19,000 people from 37 different countries.
