How to stay warm, warmer and warmest on cold weather runs

Fleet Feet employee Liz Power dresses for her coldest runs in Mizuno Featherweight tights, a Mizuno Heat-Generating long-sleeved shirt, Nathan Cruiser Beanie and Saucony Ultimit gloves. Liz says, "When I'm really cold or fighting wind and mist along with the frigid temperatures my go-to is the Mizuno Heat-Generating gear with the added wind breaker. Also, add the Ultimit gloves and your hands will stay warm and dry."
Fleet Feet employee Mike Willoughby dresses for his coldest runs in Brooks' Infiniti Tights III and a Brooks' Essential Jacket along with Mizuno Heat-Generating Gloves and a Headsweat cap. Mike says, "The Brooks' nightlife tights give me compression and reflection at 50 degrees and under. They also have side and rear pockets for keys, ipods, etc. The jacket is also a highly reflective windbreaker and is water resistant."

For her non-freezing runs, Liz sheds the jacket and gloves and runs in the Mizuno Heat-Generating long sleeve shirt, tights and her hat. Liz says,
"I like the heat-generating shirt because it's lightweight and contains specialized fibers that heat when you sweat. The Nathan Cruiser Beanie is my absolute favorite for women. It is fleece-lined and has a pony-tail hole.
For his non-freezing runs, Mike sheds his Brooks' jacket for a Brooks' Essential Vest that he says is "lightweight and sleeveless." He said his wife, Kathy, really loves the Heat-Generating Mizuno gloves and he does, too.

When Mike needs to stay a little warm during runs, he sheds the vest, gloves and hat and goes with his base layer of a Mizuno shirt and Brooks' tights.
When Liz needs to stay a little warm, she sheds the cap and keeps her base layer of shirt and tights on. Liz says, "My motto: Invest in technology that will keep you warm without bulking up like an Eskimo. Apparel has come a long way. No longer do you need to layer in five shirts."

Fleet Feet's Bra Whisperer is ready

to help with bra fits

No matter what your activity or breast size, a sports bra has become an integral and important piece of apparel. Sports bras are just as important as a properly fit pair of shoes. Fleet Feet Sports in Huntsville offers a selection of high impact sports bras from Moving Comfort, Enell and Nike. The bras we carry are breathable, comfortable, moisture wicking and offer the support that you need. Not all sports bras are created equal, and believe it or not 8 out of 10 women are wearing the wrong size bra. Not sure if you are wearing the right bra size? Your bra size can fluctuate throughout the years. We recommend being fit annually to make sure you are always in the proper amount of support. Our bra fit process will help you determine which bra and size is right for you. If you would like to set up a bra appointment prior to your visit to guarantee immediate assistance on your visit, please email our "Bra Whisperer," Shirley Hardy at
