This month many attended the J. Harris Academy of Police Training K9 Case Law/Use of Force Course. K9 Officers from around the New Jersey and a guest appearance from Pennsylvania led by example and donated money for a fallen Officer from Smith County Sheriff's Office.  Together, they donated over $500 dollars. This donation was matched by the J. Harris Foundation and a total of $1,500 was sent to FOP Lodge 51 in Tyler, Texas to go to our fallen brother's family.  For anyone else who may wish to donate, please contact their representative at the East Texas Regional FOP Lodge 51

This month, instructors from the J. Harris Academy of Police Training went to Red Bank to assist with the implementation program of their Body Worn Camera system.  Many officers get the technical training from the company when cameras are brought in. However, how to utilize these tools effectively in the field is essential.  Our implementation program not only covered the laws associated with the use of the equipment but our morning was spent discussing nuances of how to use it to the officer's advantage while in the field.  For more information about this course or others,  Click Here
