Won Palisoul
Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, U.S. Department of Defense
Won Palisoul is the Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (P&R) at the Pentagon. Prior to joining the Pentagon, she was an Associate Director of Investment Bank Compliance and Operational Risk Control at UBS. She also served as a Senior Compliance Officer of a $4 billion AUM credit-focused asset management firm and was a Compliance Examiner at an SRO for the U.S. derivatives industry. Won began her career as a Gas Turbine Technician (Electrical) in the U.S Navy, serving aboard guided missile destroyers and was forward deployed in the Pacific region for Operation Enduring Freedom. Won holds an M.A. in Information Technology Management from Webster University. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS), where she earned an M.S. in Nonprofit Management. Given her passion for the veterans’ community, she founded the Women Veterans and Families Network and served on the DNC Veterans and Military Families Council. Won is the Chair of Veterans Roundtable at CFA Society New York and the Co-Lead of Women Veterans on Wall Street. She works with senior leaders of Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits to facilitate roundtable discussions and diversity best practices forums on hiring military veterans and military spouses. Won is currently an adjunct associate faculty member of the M.S. in Human Capital Management Program and serves as an Alumni Advisory Council member at SPS. She was recently honored at the Columbia University SPS virtual graduation ceremony with the 2021 Alumni Dean’s Excellence Award. Won is married to a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and they have two children.
Laura Sennett
Sustainable Finance Specialist, United Nations Capital Development Fund
Laura Sennett is Sustainable Finance Specialist for the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in New York, a UN development finance and aid agency dedicated to using finance to fight poverty in the world’s 46 least developed countries. Laura develops innovative sustainable investment products, articulates and implements corporate strategy and reports on organizational objectives. She is co-author of the UNCDF-OECD Blended Finance in Least Developed Countries, 2020 report. She is also the UNCDF global gender focal point. Prior to joining UNCDF, Laura worked at the African Development Bank as the Senior Multilateral Affairs Coordination Officer in the Strategy and Operational Policy Department in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. She first arrived in Cote d’Ivoire as a Fulbright-Clinton Public Policy Fellow, where she worked at the Ivorian Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs, and Vocational Training. Laura also has work experience in Senegal, Nigeria, Liberia, India and Hong Kong. Laura holds a Masters of Arts from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
Hannah Young
Deputy Consul General, British Consulate General, New York
Hannah Young is a diplomat with the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. She is currently the Deputy Consul General at the British Consulate General, New York. She recently joined from Number 10, where she was the Prime Minister’s lead official on home affairs policy, a brief that covered everything from criminal justice reform to counter terrorism and immigration. She has a background in both international and domestic policy. Previous roles include establishing and leading the International Agreements Unit within the UK’s Department for Exiting the EU, as a senior advisor in the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, Cabinet Office roles on migration and intelligence policy and three years as a UK diplomat in Afghanistan at the height of the conflict, capacity building national police forces.
Amy Poster
Risk and Regulatory Specialist, Citigroup Energy Inc
Ms. Poster is a risk and regulatory specialist at Citigroup Energy Inc, Citigroup’s utilities division. Her consulting experience in financial services, focuses on accounting, financial, regulatory and compliance reporting, internal audit, controls, and implementation of risk technology solutions for banks, broker/dealers and hedge funds. Amy completed a term assignment as a Senior Policy Advisor at the US Department of Treasury, Office of the Special Inspector General- TARP (SIGTARP), overseeing financial markets and domestic policy. She led critical audits on TARP recipients and Federal inter-agency investigations. Prior to her role at SIGTARP, Amy was Director in Product Control at Credit Suisse, focusing on risk and valuation for global credit products within the Fixed Income Division. In addition, Amy led the set up and post-launch risk management of several credit and distressed funds within Credit Suisse' Alternative Capital Division. Earlier in her career, she designed and implemented risk and valuation programs at Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette and Bear Stearns. She started as a business analyst at Lehman Brothers. Amy is currently a contributing writer for Forbes.com and has been published in Institutional Investor, Alpha, Money Management Intelligence, and the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) Risk News magazines. She holds an MBA in Financial Management with Distinction from Pace University. Ms. Poster is a Board Director for New York City based Solar 1, a 501 (c)(3) green energy education center. She is also on the Advisory Board of private equity hedge fund Turning Rock Partners and Advisory Council of 100 Women in Finance.
