Babé Farms Donates Fresh Produce
to Mission Hope Cancer Center

Yesterday, Babé Farms in collaboration with Fresh Bounty and Gold Coast Packing, donated over 100 boxes of fresh produce to Mission Hope Cancer Center in Santa Maria. These boxes were enjoyed by all Mission Hope employees as well as every patient that received chemo that day. It was our small way of showing appreciation to our community during this time of crisis and encourage everyone to stay healthy and eat their veggies! Shout-out to our sales team who volunteered their time to pack these boxes; it was definitely a group effort to make this happen. We couldn't be more thrilled to be in a position to give back to such a highly regarded, local organization.

Chef Maili Halme Feeding Families Impacted by COVID-19
The impact of COVID-19 on the restaurant and hospitality industries has been enormous. So many in those fields are temporarily out of work and uncertain about the future. Local chef, Maili Halme is doing her part to make sure these folks are taken care of. In response to all the layoffs, Maili created "The River of Giving" group to provide groceries and paper goods to families who are temporarily out of work due to the COVID-19 crisis. With the help of a "small army" of volunteers, the group now delivers to 61 families (about 350 people and counting) in the Santa Ynez Valley, Lompoc, and Los Alamos.
We were thrilled to be able to donate a variety of produce to this great cause and we encourage other growers to do the same. If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can contact Maili at (805) 705-1994 or mailihalme@gmail.com . Direct donations can be made via Venmo to @Maili-Halme. The River of Giving is an all-volunteer group so 100% of donations go towards purchasing food for these families. Thank you, Maili, for your service to our community!
