10,000+ Bike Patrol Miles With A Smile
|
|
Have you noticed Joe biking around the community on his bike, even in the scorching heat? He has already surpassed 10,000 miles this year and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon!
Joe is a retired 26-year veteran from the Cleveland Police Department and continues to serve the community. He is dedicated to biking through all neighborhoods, parks, amenities, and new construction sites. Even though he's been biking his whole life, he's never done anything quite like this before. Joe loves biking and is thrilled to come to work every day and see familiar faces around the community. If you happen to spot him, be sure to flash a smile and give Joe a friendly wave!
We appreciate all the hard work and dedication he's shown this year!

Curry Preserve Second Lift
|
|
We would like to inform you that the construction crew will be paving the top coat of Curry Preserve from Lake Babcock Drive to Grassland Lane starting next Tuesday, November 7. As a result, there will be lane closures during this period. We kindly advise residents to consider alternate routes or to allot additional time to get to appointments.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience during the construction process.
Thank you for your cooperation in making our community a great place to live.

CenturyLink to Quantum Fiber
CenturyLink will be migrating to Quantum Fiber! This is just a technology change on the backend. Residents of Babcock Ranch should not be affected and probably wonโt even know that a change has happened.
Once it migrates over, new residents would go to Quantum Fiber to create their new account, and if current residents need Tech Support, they would then reach out to a different number, 833-926-1289.
Some key points to note:
- Quantum Fiber is our latest and greatest technology. Itโs a fast, reliable network for a better all-around experience for each resident.
- There are no additional costs associated with this upgrade/migration.
- There are no contract changes that are needed.
- This remains within our parent company, Lumen (NOT sold off to a different company).
- The residentโs Internet should not be affected at all, or it could go down for up to 5 minutes max, then come back up again.
More information can be found on the Quantum Fiber FAQ page.
There will be more notice to come once we know for sure when the migration will take place.

Meet Babcock Ranch's three new districts
|
|
As Babcock Ranch experiences tremendous residential and commercial growth in all directions, three main districts have been defined within the master land plan โ WestTown, MidTown and EastTown, with north-to-south development in Charlotte and Lee counties.
WestTown encompasses neighborhoods from Babcock Ranch Road/State Route 31, east to Babcock Trail, and includes Founderโs Square, Crescent B Commons, and Babcock Schools. MidTown includes the new neighborhoods and parks along Babcock Trail and continues east to a new town center and village green. EastTown, as its name implies, is easternmost district and once built will complete the town of Babcock Ranch.โโโโโโ

Nashville Night Music Festival
|
|
Join us as the Babcock Ranch Foundation hosts their inaugural Nashville Night music festival on Saturday, November 18. More than 2,000 residents, neighbors, and the public will gather in Founderโs Square for a night of blues, rock, and country music from some of the brightest stars in Music City.
The music festival includes blues, rock, and country performances by headliner singer-songwriter Deidre Thornell and starring artists Dave Isaacs, Meg Williams, and Travis Bowlin.
Seating on the event lawn overlooking Lake Babcock opens at 3:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Music begins at 4:00 p.m. and continues until 9:00 p.m.
Food and beverages will be served by crowd-favorite food trucks and the townโs restaurants: Square Scoops, Slaterโs Goods & Provisions, and The Lake House Kitchen & Bar. Outside food and drink are prohibited.
General sale tickets are $35. Tickets will be $45 on the day of the music festival.
Proceeds benefit the Babcock Ranch Foundation and its mission of creating programs, initiatives, and scholarships that enhance, enrich, and positively impact the lives of at-risk children in Southwest Florida.

Wildlife Photo of the Week:
Merlin
|
|
A Merlin near Sunset Lake.
|
|
Species: Merlin (Falco columbarius)
Photographer: Richard Kinley
Location: Babcock Ranch
Christina's Take: Insights from Babcock Ranch Environmental Mitigation Manager Christina Kontos:
- A small dark-colored falcon with a fierce attitude and fast flight skills!
- You can observe them at treetops or lower perches at the edges of forests, grasslands, or marshes as they hunt for prey, which includes songbirds and shorebirds.
- In pursuit of smaller birds, they utilize their surprise attack skills by chasing prey upward until they tire and then attack from below at high speed, which can reach 30 mph or faster!
- Merlin pairs have also been observed to use teamwork for a successful hunt by having one flush a large flock of birds from below while the other swoops in during the chaos to collect their prize.
- During medieval times, falconers nicknamed merlins โlady hawksโ since many noblewomen used these falcons to hunt Skylarks as a sport.

You can click below for detailed landscaping information for November. Please remember that these schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions.
|
|
It is highly encouraged to increase your irrigation run times in the turf area only by ยผ of the total time.
We are experiencing dry conditions and still receiving temperatures in the low to mid 80โs. It has also been very windy for the last few days. All of these conditions contribute to degrading turf conditions.
Brightview will increase your run time as they do wet checks, or if you are familiar with the system, you can do it yourself.
