PARADE OF HONOR: A motor patrol contingent proceeds down Lake Babcock Drive Wednesday following the funeral of Charlotte County Sheriff's Deputy Christopher Taylor.
Community Honors Fallen Deputy
Law enforcement officers and dignitaries from around the state filled the Babcock Ranch Field House Wednesday for the funeral of Charlotte County Sheriff's Deputy Christopher Taylor, who died in the line of duty on Nov. 22.
The ceremony concluded with a three-volley salute and a flyover of law enforcement helicopters. The funeral procession then made its way down Lake Babcock Drive, where residents stood respectfully as the motorcade passed by.
The somber ceremony served to remind us all of the sacrifices made every day by those who serve the public.

Resident Use of Construction Dumpsters is Prohibited
OFF LIMITS: Residents may not use construction dumpsters to dispose of household items.
Construction Receptacles Belong to Builders
Residents of Babcock Ranch may not use construction dumpsters for the disposal of household trash. We've seen an increase in such activity in recent weeks and want to be sure residents understand the policy.
The dumpsters — located in construction area throughout Babcock Ranch — are paid for by builders. Unauthorized use of a dumpster may result in a theft-of-services complaint filed with local authorities.
