The Able Trust team recently traveled to Orlando for Ability Week where we held our annual Board of Directors retreat, the High School High Tech (HSHT) conference and the final round of the Project Venture competition. It was an exciting week and a great celebration of leadership and the accomplishments of students with disabilities.
The top Project Venture award went to the Windermere High School team, representing the Orange County West HSHT program. Second- and third-place honors went respectively to the Union County HSHT and Bay County HSHT teams. The students did an amazing job of presenting their ideas for a new product and handled questions from both the judges and the audience of more than 100 attendees with professionalism.
We were also excited to bring together the coordinators of all the HSHT programs for professional development and to recognize their contributions and commitment to all our HSHT students.
The High School High Tech program is crucial to helping students with disabilities prepare for a successful future and we could not be more proud of all HSHT students, and appreciative of our partners around the state.
