Director’s Message
Wow! September is here? Where did the Summer go? Yay for back to school! I hope that all our littles and their families enjoy their first days of classes. Don’t forget to pop into the library to get your very own library card – afterall, it’s the most important school supply of all, and it’s free! September is National Library Card Sign Up Month... come see what we have in store all month long at your library!
Summer Reading was a blast! We saw so many people at the Chamber of Commerce Block parties, at the Village Gazebo for various events, and all over the Village where we Jammed with Mr. Josh! We stamped so many Library Tour Passports – did you tour Suffolk County’s 56 libraries?
We also had a blast at our first official Date Night Babylon in collaboration with the Village, Chamber of Commerce and Friends of the Library – about 70 people came out to watch “Moonstruck”, eat pizza, cookies, and cannolis! We are looking forward to doing this again sometime in October – standby for the date and theme!
The Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday, September 19th at 6:30 PM for their monthly business meeting, all are always welcome to attend. The Friends of the Library will meet on Thursday September 28th at 6:30 PM. Come join the Friends to plan exciting Fall events and programs!
We have wonderful September programming – come check us out for a full run down of everything we have in store for you this month and the whole Autumn season! Remember, libraries are for everyone – and that’s a mission we’re serious about!
Until next time, I am yours,
Tom Vitale
