Celebrating the Wonder of God
This coming Sunday is Trinity Sunday. In general, the Christian calendar reflects events, particularly the Christ-Event. Trinity Sunday is the one day of the year that is based more on a theological idea concerning God’s nature. Now if you worship with us this Sunday, I guarantee that you will not hear a theological treatise on the Trinity. I find it far better to affirm the Trinity than to explain it!
This week we will read Psalm 8 – one of my favorites that extols the wonders of creation. When I sit in my office and look at the beautiful view from St Francis, I rejoice that God has created such beauty, that Christ has redeemed all creation, and by the Spirit we have the capacity to appreciate and conserve this beauty.
I hope you will join us as we sing the glory of our Triune God – without the need to explain it. And join us, too, as we honor our graduates. Come and worship our holy, holy, holy God.
