Invite a Friend to Bach, Bark or Both
Yes, you can spread the word—through Nextdoor and Facebook ! It’s easy to spread the word about this Saturday’s concert and Sunday’s Pet Blessing. The wonderful concert will feature the fabulous talents of Capitol Opera Richmond and Jefferson Baroque performing “Exclusively Bach” a broad and varied sampling of Johann Sebastian Bach’s gorgeous music for voice, orchestral ensemble, and organ. The music provided by Jefferson Baroque will be performed on period and historic-replica instruments. We are excited to feature the “premiere” arrangement by Jefferson Baroque of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in d-minor for two violins, cello and harpsichord. The concert will also present a Concerto for Two Harpsichords . Help us share our love of music by inviting a friend to this free concert at 3:00 p.m. on Sat. Oct. 5; a greet-the-artists reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Contact Beth Davis for more information about this concert.

On Sunday, Oct. 6 at 5:00 p.m. our annual “Blessing of the Animals” service will feature furry four-legged friends. Pets will receive a tag, a treat and a blessing at this uplifting event. Weather permitting, the service will be held in front of the church on Laurel Street. If you don’t have a pet, why not visit the Richmond SPCA's mobile unit and adopt one?

Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m.—Braiding Bags for the Homeless
Having a ground cover made from recycled plastic bags is a real blessing for people living on the streets. After much experimenting, we found we can make the mats by simply braiding the bags...so simple! Please join us at the church on Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m. for a hands-on demonstration on how to make a mat. Call Betsy Featherstone at 804-353-9760 or Molly Howle at 804-285-3870 if you can come and join us.
