Bach's Lunch
Virtual Chamber Music Festival

Zooming in on Minneapolis
featuring Beth Rapier and Anthony Ross, cellos

Stephanie and Jeffrey visit with Beth and Tony to learn that Beth considers Bach's music to be one of those "desert island" necessities. And although Tony had played all six of Bach's suites by the time he was 22 years old, the suites have continued to reveal new patterns and ideas to him over the course of 30 plus years.

A special thanks to Evan Richards for helping us put these videos together and managing our YouTube channel.
J.S. Bach, Allemande from Suite #6 in D Major (Anthony Ross) and Courante from Suite #1 in G Major (Beth Rapier)
For your main course, the Suite for two cellos by Gian Carlo Menotti. Tony and Beth have performed this piece to acclaim around the world! This was recorded last summer in the Hillside Theater. We're so lucky to have it...this is just minutes prior to Beth's backstage ankle-break. (She eventually made a full recovery).
And for dessert...a Brazilian bon bon!
Gian Carlo Menotti: Suite for two cellos and piano, performed by Beth Rapier and Anthony Ross, in June 2019. Recorded by Dave Alcorn.
Pixinguinha (Alfredo da Rocha Viana Filho): Carinhoso. Arranged for two cellos by Anthony Ross and Beth Rapier.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at noon, throughout the month of June
We are channeling the Inextinguishable Flame of BDDS to bring you a fabulous virtual festival entitled Bach's Lunch .

Our Bach’s Lunch Bento Bachs includes:
• a performance of a short solo work by JS Bach, recorded live in the artist’s living room, just for this series
• a brief interview with the artist, led by Stephanie and Jeffrey
• an archived performance from seasons past featuring the artist
• a little dessert

Next up: Stephanie Jutt on Thursday, June 18.

We'd love to hear what you think, and even more than that, we'd love to hear what questions you might have for these artists! Get your questions to Samantha by clicking here and we'll slip them into our interviews if we can and enter you in our couch prize drawing!
Our virtual festival is FREE and you are welcome to share it widely. If you are able, we invite you to make a donation to ensure BDDS will come back strong in 2021.
