Your Experience Counts (YEC) is a HandsOn program that trains volunteers to best support teachers in under-resourced schools around the Valley. The pandemic put this program on hold, and after a summer of brainstorming ways to safely reengage volunteers in classrooms, we are thrilled to announce YEC is back for the 2021-2022 school year! We have plans to return volunteers to schools in four districts, Balsz, Osborn, Mesa, and Dysart.
The challenges students face have only grown since the pandemic and we are committed to putting volunteers to work where they are needed most. So, in addition to our regular support of 1-8th grade classes, this year we are looking to place volunteers at Mesa Public High for after school support.
We will be requiring all YEC volunteers to be fully vaccinated and to wear face masks to best protect the students, school staff, and themselves.
