Who’s New @ VCHS
2025-2026
Brenda Hawkins will serve as Front Desk Receptionist and Athletic Director Assistant. Since 1998 she has served at Vail Health, first as a Respiratory Therapist and more recently as Coordinator at Jack’s Place. She holds an AAS in Respiratory Therapy. Brenda is married to David, and they have Stella ’27.
Christian Loedel will serve as Director of Sports Medicine, Associate Athletic Director and teach Intro to Sports Medicine. He recently was an Athletic Trainer/Surgical Assistant at The Steadman Clinic. Before that he served at VCHS as Athletic Trainer. He holds a BS in Athletic Training from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and a MS in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania.
Mayra Rubio will join Ms. Ward in the Spanish Department and teach one Spanish I class. She will also be the advisor for the Hispanic Leadership & Culture Club. Since 1999, she and her husband have been the pastors of Eagle County’s Vida Nueva Christian Center. She has also served in a variety of positions in Eagle County School District. She holds a BA from Latin American Theological Seminary. Mayra is married to Josue, and they have two grown children: Eliab and Daniela.
Danielle Siess will serve as the Freshmen Dean and Registrar (supporting College Counseling and Admissions). She will also teach Precalculus and Personal Financial Management. Since 2020, she was a Math Teacher at Eagle County Charter Academy. Danielle holds a BA in Educational Studies from Colgate University and a M.Ed. in Educator Effectiveness and Leadership from Western Colorado University. Danielle is married to Kale, and they have two children: Max ’29 and Stella (6th grade).
Stacey Yarnell will teach AP Calculus AB. She currently serves as a private math tutor but recently taught all math levels (including Calculus III) at Colorado Mountain College where she also served as Math Department Chair. She holds a BS and MS in Applied Math from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) and a MA in Curriculum and Instruction from UCCS. Stacey is married to Justin, and they have two children: Owen (7th grade) and Milo (5th grade).
What’s New with Returning Faculty & Staff
Sandra Burner will teach one Foundations of Algebra class
Daniel Hartmann will have a full-time role teaching Social Studies classes (9th grade History, U.S. Government, and Psychology) and serve as Student Life Coordinator including overseeing PLuS Days
Sarah Hochtl will teach a new Advanced Entrepreneurship Independent Study class
Ashley Macias will serve as Yearbook Advisor
Miles McKinney will teach a new Introduction to Aviation class
Dan Mysnyk will increase his scope of work from 11th-12th grades to now oversee all grade levels as Assistant Head/Principal
Denae O’Neil will teach Aerospace Engineering, a returning class
Anne Verratti will serve as Director of College and Career Counseling and will also retain some of her previous work as Testing Coordinator and with Academic Support
Steph Ward will be a full-time Spanish Teacher including AP Spanish, a returning class
