Greetings!
The time has come for us to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall. Labor Day and New Year's Day are the two major days for revitalization for many professionals, entrepreneurs, and consultants. Many organizations view the conclusion of the summer and the start of the school year as their final opportunity to achieve their yearly goals. Business development expert Mark LeBlanc, the author of the book Growing Your Business, says it takes more than focus, what is needed now is an extreme focus.

As the seasons' change and our focus deepens we continue to put in the work to better ourselves and our surroundings. This month we're sharing insights on Getting Back to Business, Designing Learning for a Hybrid Workplace, and What Would You Do for 15 More Points of IQ?

Here at E Squared Solutions, we strive to create value for our clients through continuous development and growth. Learn more about our services - workshops, advisory services, and content.

We continue to update our blog, advance our LinkedIn presence, and continue our Lean Six Sigma programs in partnership with the George Washington University Center for Excellence in Public Leadership.

Let's move forward with deep focus!

With gratitude,

Amita

Getting Back to Business
From the blog: Kids are returning to school as the summer draws to a close, and it's time to resume our regular schedules. Even while vacations might help you relax and refresh, taking some time off this summer can be more difficult to get back into the swing of things. Now that we've had some time to reflect on our jobs and how we want to grow while we are not at work in a relaxed environment. It's time to think about long-term changes you may make to feel rejuvenated and prevent burnout.
Designing Learning for a Hybrid Workplace
From Harvard Business Review: Many business executives worry about how to cultivate talent in a hybrid workplace. However, well-designed virtual learning has been shown to be as effective as in-person learning — and frequently more so — because it can be scaled relatively easily, delivered flexibly and in ways that accommodate other ongoing work, and spaced to allow opportunities for learning to be embedded into long-term memory, built upon, and practiced.
What Would You Do for 15 More Points of IQ?
From MoreSteam: Fewer workers with fewer resources are trying to satisfy the increasing demand for products and services. That's a tricky equation to balance. An inevitable outcome of trying to balance that equation is multitasking. Everything still needs to get done, and in most cases, a sequence of operations or activities still needs to happen, so we begin a start/stop cycle of getting just enough done to move to the next step.
Multitasking is not doing two or more tasks at once; it's an attempt at rapid task-switching or serial-tasking. I probably don't need to talk much about the likely outcome. It's bad. But how bad is it?
