Dear VCS Community,

Isaiah 61:3 says, “To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”

This passage seems reminiscent of all the challenges our community has experienced in recent months to the new hope dawning on the horizon. From sheltering in place to regaining some freedoms, from forced wildfire evacuations and unhealthy air quality to the restoration of our beautiful blue sky – God has given us a crown of beauty for ashes. It is a joy to look out the window on a clear day and see the surrounding hills!

We thank God for the process of welcoming students back to our campuses. We missed the life, laughter, and energy brought by each of our outstanding students. The principals will continue to communicate their specific plans for entry to hybrid instruction. Still, all families in our community will benefit from our organizational blueprint found in

We want to commend our leadership for the tireless hours spent planning for varied instructional models. Our teachers, too, have gone above and beyond to deliver quality education by adapting to new technologies in isolated environments. Amid the obstacles presented by the pandemic, VCS Warriors are resilient, supportive, and thriving.

Looking forward,
