Safely Returning to St. John's
Saturday, September 19, 11:30 a.m.

We are returning to small in-person gatherings at St. John's this week, beginning with the Blessing of the Animals on Sept. 19 at 11:30 a.m.! We will have the church open to small groups to enter and pray. Then we resume Sunday morning mass at 8:00 a.m. in the garden beginning October 4. To make all of this possible we need you to follow a few simple steps to keep everyone safe.

Please watch this video and keep reading for all the details!
Before you arrive:
  • Don't come if you aren't feeling well.
  • You must RSVP to [email protected]
  • RSVP for a half-hour time slot - each group will be in the church for no more than half an hour. 11:30, 12:00,12:30. Sign up for one of these times.
  • If you are coming sometime after the 11:30 a.m. blessing please let us know to the best of your ability when. We know you can't guess to the minute but it helps us know what to expect.

Once you get to St. John's:
  • Park in every other space.
  • Wear a mask at all times.
  • Follow directional arrows and directions from staff.
  • Keep six feet from all other persons / household groups.
  • Use hand sanitizer upon entering the church.
  • Follow all posted time limits.
  • Be patient with us while we strive to keep you safe!

Additional Notes:
  • You don't have to enter the church if you don't feel safe doing so-- you're more than welcome to simply bring your pet / memento for a blessing.
  • We would rather you not use the restrooms here but some will be available if needed.
  • We may not be able to accommodate every pilgrim in the first group entering the church; come willing to wait 15-30 minutes for you chance to enter the building.
  • Sun screen is recommended.

The service, to be conducted in English and Spanish, will be live-streamed from St. Paul’s Commons with the support of Provost Frank Alton and the altar guild of St. Athanasius’ Church.

St. John's Christian Education will be at 9:00 a.m. this morning.
