Back-to-School 2020

Greetings, and welcome to the new school year!

It's no surprise that this school year is going to look a lot different than normal. I want to remind you that we are all here for you with resources, trainings, professional learning, and any other materials you may need during this time. Our goal is and always has been to support the districts and their staff in order to bring the best educational experience for our youth.

COVID-19 has brought many challenges to the education system, and while it hasn't been an easy battle, I continue to be impressed by the innovative ways our teachers and our districts are adapting to the change. COVID-19 will continue to bring changes to our schools, but I am confident knowing that the educators of Kane County are up to the task.

Sincerley,
Patricia Dal Santo

Announcement for Teachers Wishing to Pursue National Board Certification for the 2020-2021 School Year
The Kane County Regional Office of Education is proud to announce we will be a cohort host for teachers and counselors pursuing National Board Certification during the 2020-2021 school year. This cohort will meet 12 times throughout the school year and is led by a trained National Board Certified Teacher who will guide teachers through the process at no cost. Teachers can earn 24 Professional Development clock hours as they complete their National Board components. The state offers a subsidy to pay for all fees associated with becoming a National Board Certified Teacher (there is a one-time $75 registration fee – this is the only cost an eligible teacher will incur). Apply for the subsidy from September 1st, 2020 until October 11, 2020. Cohort support sessions begin statewide the week of September 13th, 1010.
