Dear Lakeside Community,
Do your children know
where they are going after school? Please make sure they know and then quiz them on the way out of the car in the morning. Many are showing up in the office which is challenging us because we don't know. We have a few students a day who show up in the office and ask where they are going - and it takes 10-15 minutes of staff time to make a number of calls to figure this out. Can you help us?
Box Tops? Have any? If you do, please send them in. We will have a newly formed Student Council and they need a project or two.
Do you have
who need transportation via the bus? If so, Loma Prieta has
that you might like.
Parking...we're having a few challenges. Please do not park and leave your car unattended in the driveway turnaround or create a parking space where one doesn't exist. This is for students safety and to help protect your vehicles from being hit. We had another near miss late this week. It's never fun to have your car hit at school.
WANTED: Tech-savvy parents! Mr. Gull and Mr. Jeremiah are looking for other parents to help with TechTime. We would like 2-3 more parents to help teach tech classes in typing, coding, robots, testing, etc. right after flag, either
8:30 to 9:30
8:30 to 10:15
if your schedule permits. Please contact one/both of them if you are available. Our staff and students thank you.
IMPORTANT EMERGENCY INFORMATION - In the event of an emergency here on campus, including an evacuation, we cannot have a designated "reuniting site." If there is an emergency and we need you to pick up students, we will communicate as effectively and efficiently as we can via Blackboard, our website, Twitter, and text messages. If there is a natural disaster and we have no access to power, and if cell towers are down, clearly communication will be a challenge. We will use
every technology we have available to communicate information about how to reach your children. Rest assured - we will take wonderful care of them, but we will be under the direction of either the Sheriff or Fire Department, and they will let us know where families can be reunited.
state test scores
were released this week, although we have had the Lakeside data since late June. In a special eblast next week, I'll share our data from the past two years and a comparison to county and state scores. In the meantime,
is a great video on how to interpret your child's score sheet.
