12 Civics Lesson Plans

Supported by the Marder-Vaughn Center for Interpretation and Education

Each year the Wilson House applies for (and is awarded) grants to support our mission. Our projects impact hundreds of students, teachers, researchers, and museum-goers of all ages.

Dr. Samantha Averett, former Teacher-in-Residence at the Woodrow Wilson House, created several middle and high-school-level lesson plans based on civics and social studies, using the Wilson House as the backdrop and resource. Dr. Averett is a civics teacher in Washington, D.C. whose colleagues know her as "SamMaknHistory".
