Greetings!

We're looking forward to going back to school with our eco-focused and plant-forward nutrition programs! Read on for great news about fall projects and our library summer partnership, plus a beautiful celebration and collaboration with Farm Sanctuary. As always, we've got delicious plant-based recipes — good for people, animals and our planet! 💚🌎💚

Back to School, Excited for Renewed Partnerships and Possibilities!

Live Classroom Presentations and Tastings. It's back to school with our eco-focused plant-forward nutrition programs for elementary, middle and high schoolers! We are so grateful to our supporters, because it is pure joy to be with students (and teachers) who are eager to engage in our interactive presentations, prep and taste delicious bean-based meals, and feel empowered to make a difference for animals and the planet!

Grants for Teachers. For the 6th year, we're providing grants to over 25 teacher partners, for ongoing culinary projects — allowing elementary and middle school students to enjoy hands-on food prep and tasting experiences, with cool beans for plant-protein!

HKHP Team Member Going Back to School!

Join us in congratulating HKHP team member Abby, who has begun her Master of Science in Sustainable Food Systems at Arizona State University! We're so excited to cheer her on—and even more excited that her growing expertise in food systems and sustainability will make HKHP's programs stronger than ever.

Lunching and Learning at the Library

We were honored to take part in Oceanside Library’s summer Lunch at the Library series! Over two days of tabling events, we connected with students of all ages and their families while sharing our plant-forward resources and spreading the word about the magic of beans. We gave away cans of beans as prizes for Cool Bean trivia and helped families discover how delicious, versatile, affordable and planet-friendly beans can be!

Farm Sanctuary Celebration & Collaboration

It was an inspirational weekend at Farm Sanctuary's 40-Year Hoedown Celebration (August 15th-16th), where Founding Director, Barbara Gates, was honored to be a speaker!

It was an incredible event, with a community of farm animal rights activists, amazing vegan meals, a dance party and messages of hope and inspiration from leaders in the Farm Animal Rights movement, including Farm Sanctuary co-founder and visionary, Gene Bauer.

At HKHP we teach youth--in their formative years--

that food is about health, the environment, and ethics.

We are proud to stand with the farm animal rights movement, helping to create a healthier, greener and more compassionate world for future generations.
