Back to School (Yet Again) & (More) Breakfast
Rotary Club Hong Kong Central feeds the children at our newest school – Bankong Primary School. With many of the children being vaccinated along with their parents and teachers, schools have begun to open up again. CCDO is now able to distribute breakfast again at their place of learning Rotary Club Hong Kong Central feeds a nutritious meal to 115 children. Many bring their siblings along for the food. All children and teachers still wear masks and practice social distancing.

Wine Packages Support Free Breakfast Program
Our long time supporter Ron Khoo, from Food for Good in Hong Kong, has come up with a new, unique way of funding our breakfast meals. Wine Salon Asia in conjunction with the Wall Street Journal subscribers, has a special wine promotion. With every purchase of his Impact Collection of Wines, he will feed 100 CCDO kids a much needed meal. It makes you feel good drinking that lovely wine knowing that you are doing good. Cheers!

Digital Learning
As the world continues to become more digitized, girls are too often left further and further behind. Girls lack access to the digital space because of their age, gender, and geographic location. This exclusion of girls in the digital space impacts their access to education and decisions-making spaces particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The gender digital divide continues to widen and girls need governments to make real efforts to expand access to the internet and digital space for girls.

CCDO proudly encourages the use of digital learning and at every opportunity. Our computer labs always have equal attendance from girls and boys. During the pandemic we have been using online learning especially for our older students. All our staff, but in particular our women team members are skilled in computer use and are a visible role model to girls and women in the community. They are using many programs and applications and are training teachers, preschool teachers and students to use different online phone applications to improve their learning and their lives.

Meet our Scholarship Students
Scholarship students are continuing to study online. Some of them have returned from Phnom Penh and are able to be at home with their families, even though they sometimes struggle with internet connectivity. CCDO regularly connects with the students and their families through home visits.

Meet Mab Mean, one of 3 in his family, who form part of our scholarship students. Our generous donors sponsor them through high school and on to university and thus ensure that they reach for their dreams. We salute our dedicated donors who are there for the long run.

Thank youDarren McQuoid, for sponsoring two of our students.

Donors
We are truly grateful for longtime donors, Pete & Mary Jo Farrell who generously donated $3,000 to help with our projects. Thanks for your continued support. Once again Beth & Kevin Hoffman have generous donated $1,000 to help with extra costs of their preschool build.
