Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe that August has arrived! In just a few short weeks, our teachers and staff will be welcoming your Vikings for the 2022-2023 school year! I had the pleasure of meeting some of you at the St. Veronica Parish Festival and others as they have registered for the upcoming year. I have quickly learned that we have an excellent community of staff, students, and their families! I can’t wait to get to know you all better.
While this year will be a new journey for me professionally, it will not be uncharted territory. I come to St. Veronica with 20 years of experience in Catholic Education. During the last two years, I was the Assistant Principal at Guardian Angels School in Mt. Washington. Each experience in my journey has been a unique blessing. I am so thankful God has led me to the St. Veronica School community.
Since the start of July, I have been hard at work with Mrs. Dumford and the office staff, preparing for the new school year. We've been creating schedules, hiring, and getting to know our current staff. All of this, while air conditioning is installed, the building is painted, floors are waxed and classrooms are cleaned. Needless to say, the school campus has been very busy!
While many familiar faces will be returning to our school, two of our teachers will be moving on to new opportunities. Mrs. Biernat and Mr. Flannery have accepted new positions and will be leaving St. Veronica. We thank them for their dedication and devotion to our school. Please join me in praying for them as they begin their new ventures. We are currently in the process of interviewing multiple candidates to fill these positions, a preschool teacher position and our STEM position. More information will be shared as we get closer to the start of school.
I also wanted to share a few upcoming dates for your calendars! One change you will notice is the addition of Back-to-School Open House. Students and families are invited to drop off school supplies and meet their teachers and Mrs. Woodall during this time. Students in Grades 2-8 are also required to purchase a planner for $8. Sixth Graders and new Seventh and Eighth Graders are required to purchase a Bible for $15. Planners and Bibles will be available for purchase during this time.
As summer vacation quickly comes to a close, I will be praying for each of you. May the summer days be filled with blessings, adventures, and many memories for your family!
God bless,
Stephanie Woodall
