Submission Deadlines


Sept 1 - 2022 MY HERO International Film Festival final call for general entries. Short narrative, animated, documentary, experimental, music video and immersive works - 10 minutes and under. Students submit for free - email for code media@myheroproject.org.


Nominate an outstanding short film for consideration for the Festival. 


Oct 12022 MY HERO International Film Festival Special Awards for professional and student short films honoring women, activists, youth reporters and more.

Shetterly Portrait Contest

Professional artists and students are invited to submit portraits of someone they admire for significant contribution to their community, the planet, or themselves. Entries are judged by artist Robert Shetterly, founder of Americans Who Tell the Truth, and the MY HERO Gallery staff.

MY HERO Calendar - 365 Days of Heroes

MY HERO - iEARN Learning Circle

My Hero Learning Circles is a collaboration between MY HERO and iEARN (International Education and Resource Network) that brings together students and teachers from diverse areas of the world on the topic of heroism. Students produce and share original stories, short films, art, and music celebrating the efforts of those making positive change in their community or the world. This project-based learning program enriches cross-cultural understanding and communication skills. 


New sessions of the MY HERO: Celebrating Everyday Heroes will start at the end of September. Educators and their students can sign up for a 16-week, 10-week, or 5-week session. 

 

Additional sessions for 2022-2023 include:

  • MY HERO: Environmental Activists
