Back-to-School Blessing Sunday
As we continue our worship series on how powerful spiritual routines and practices can be, this Sunday's focus is on PRAYER. We invite everyone who's returning to school to join us in worship for a special Back-to-School blessing. It will be right before the children go to their classes after the Children's Moment. Come and be blessed!
Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

Routines can be so helpful. They keep us going. They allow us to return to tasks that need to be done on a regular basis, sometimes even without much thought.

I also know that some of us are pretty spontaneous people. We chafe at the thought of living a routine life. The reality is a routine life sounds pretty boring and dull. So what about spiritual routines, like worship and prayer? If someone asks, “When is the best time to pray?” one answer could certainly be, whenever the Spirit leads us to pray...

Register to Pack Meals at FMSC
This June, Feed My Starving Children broke a summer volunteer record. PVUMC helped make that happen! Now, FMSC says it needs 25,000 volunteers this August to pack the number of meals promised to their food partners. If every person who volunteered in June or July grabs a friend and volunteers this month, the organization says they'll meet their goal!

Register to participate in PVUMC's packing event scheduled for Saturday, August 18, 4:30-6:30 pm, by emailing PVUMC’s volunteer FMSC coordinator, Debbie Doran. Include your name, a contact phone number, the number of participants, and the names and emails of those over 18. Children as young as 5 can pack with an adult. Feed My Starving Children asks for a donation at the event, but there is no fee or obligation other than to serve. Donate as the spirit moves you. If you go, and are on Facebook, say you're going and then check-in when you're at the event and share some photos!

9/11 Multi-Faith Food Drive
The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona (ISBA) and partnering organizations, including PVUMC, are organizing a multi-faith food drive for the 7th consecutive year. This event has demonstrated that the same spirit that drove the first responders and others to care for complete strangers on 9/11, is still alive by uniting people of all faiths to provide food for the most needy in our communities. Please donate on September 2 and on September 9.

Thank you for subscribing. Update your profile/ email preferences below.
