Free socks, underwear and hoodies provided to children in need from Assistance League® of Southeastern Michigan
Assistance League®  of Southeastern Michigan provided free socks, underwear, hoodies and toiletries to 500 children in need at the Back to School Bonanza on August 27 at West Middle School in Rochester Hills. This annual health fair brings together business and non-profit partners from the community to support Rochester-area children who are financially disadvantaged, on Medicaid or without insurance.

"We are happy to support and sponsor this effort to help children and families get ready for school with free products and services," said Marjorie DiLiddo, president of Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan. "We don't often see the need in this community, but approximately 10-15% of students in Rochester Community Schools qualify for financial assistance. By partnering with the Back to School Bonanza, Assistance League is able to support these children and families who need a boost during this financially stressful time of year."

In addition to clothing, Assistance League also gave each child a tote bag and a toiletry kit that included a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, comb and washcloth.
