Preparing Kids for the New School Year
Saying good-bye to summer and hello to a new school routine is a big change for students. This article from Aha! Parenting offers some tips on how to help your student transition. Some of the tips are:

  • Make sure your child is familiar with the school. You can do this by attending our back to school events where your child can tour the school and meet his/her teacher.
  • Practice saying goodbye. Some children will find the biggest challenge is saying goodbye to you. Practicing a morning routine now, including a goodbye ritual can help.
  • Get your kids back on an early to bed schedule before school starts. Children need 9.5 to 11 hours of sleep a night. Start moving bedtime a bit earlier every night to ease the transition.

You can find more ways to help your child transition back to school by reading the full article here.
