Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are looking forward to seeing your children for their orientation day! This email is being sent to provide you with information about our arrival and screening processes that will take place on a daily basis at school before your child will be admitted to attend classes. Please review carefully all of the information listed below.

Complete COVID-19 Waiver

Before attending Back to School Orientation, parents and students must complete and e-sign a new waiver, that can be found on the Parent Portal of PowerSchool.

This year we will be using digital forms and e-signatures to help reduce the possible spread of COVID-19. Moreover, the adoption of this new practice is just one of the steps in our becoming more environmentally responsible.

You may have noticed that all the other back-to-school documents are also now on PowerSchool and require your e-signature.

As a reminder, you must log in to your parent account to access the documents. The forms are not available on your child’s account. Additionally, the waiver form can be found here and the e-signing instructions can be found here.

Complete Daily Pre-Screening Questionnaire

Each day, parents must take their child’s temperature and complete the online questionnaire that informs our administrative team that the student is not ill and able to attend school. Parents must enter the email address that we have on file when completing the form. This form will be available on the school website, and can also be found here. It must be completed each day that a student is attending school in-person, before 6:45AM.

If a student arrives without the form completed, they will be instructed by the administrators admitting students to sit to the side while all other students are admitted. They will be issued an unexcused lateness for that school day and will be admitted after all other students, so long as their parent has completed the online form.

PLEASE NOTE: If the form is not completed, the student’s parent/guardian will be notified and they may be asked to come to school and pick up their child. The student will not be admitted to their classes. If a parent/guardian fails to complete the online form multiple times, the student may lose their privilege to attend classes in-person.

Arrival

All students arriving before 7:45 A.M. must enter the school through Door “X” by the cafeteria. They will remain in line, socially distanced, and have their temperature taken. If their temperature is normal, they will then check-in to ensure their online form has been completed, and will then proceed to their assigned location in the building until the bell rings to send them to their first period.

After 7:45 A.M., students should be dropped off at Door “A”, and will have their temperature taken in the Main Office and confirm their pre-screening was completed.

If a student is found to have a temperature, they will be isolated and the nurse will evaluate them and their parent/guardian will be contacted. Students should not be sent to school ill.

The screening process is essential to our main goal of keeping our entire community safe and healthy and keeping Archbishop Carroll open for in-person learning. A student who intentionally or unintentionally bypasses the screening process is considered a serious infraction, and will be dealt with as such by the school administration.

We thank you for your ongoing support. We will continue to keep you updated and look forward to seeing students on campus this week.

Sincerely,

Dr. Anchen Schulz, Principal
