A time for our VILLAGE to come together
The start of the school year requires a lot of adjustment to new schedules and routines. It is a stressful time - and even more so for only parents. For widowed parents, it is also a particularly lonely time: adjusting to not having a partner to talk with about decisions for the children, nor celebrate the new beginnings and successes with, adds to the pain and stress.
Then there's the added piece of paying and managing the school supplies.
Last year, thanks to our generous donors, we were able to provide gift cards for all the school-aged children for school supplies. Parents can opt to have their Family Friend shop for them, as well as forego the stipend and pay it forward to another family.
It was a way to bless our families during this time.
This year, we're asking for your help again: to bless 9 new families and 23 new children.
